Showcase Vol 1 - Colour Shifts!

The Showcase series focuses on a group of items I have, and similar ones I'm lusting over, which all revolve around a current theme or trend. This week's Showcase features colour-shifting items - my favourite!

This post will cover items under the following: iridescent, duochrome, duotone, multichrome. Basically anything that has more than one shade with an iridescent magical finish? Yup, love it.
Ok let's jump straight into it!

ghd V Wonderland Styler - Limited Edition
No longer available
This was a recent purchase - 2014. I used to have a perfectly fine LE red ghd but once I saw this in it's duotone glory I couldn't pass it up. To be fair, my previous ghd was working perfectly fine but was around 4 years old and had some cracks/chips; so the Wonderland was a treat to myself. It arrived in this gorgeous iridescent box; along with a heat-protective bag and extras. Sadly the iridescence didn't carry through to the other products.

Inglot AMC Pure Pigment Eye Shadow
$30 AUD - shop here or instore
I've got a handful of the duochrome AMC shadows, and I seriously love them. They are huge, about 2grams, and will last forever unless you're rubbing it all over your face daily. They have a great range of plain colours, but if you're like me and enjoy something a bit fancier then check out their duochromes. I have pictured pigment #84 which is a gorgeous brick red base and olive-gold overlay; my other most used is pigment #85 (not pictured) which has a matching base, but a silvery green overlay.

Whimsy Beading Necklaces
$45+ AUD - shop here
I have three bracelets from Whimsy Beading which I purchased several years ago (and they're still perfect). WB is an artisan line that produces an array of personal jewelry in absolutely divine colour selections, as shown above (they have hundreds more, seriously, check out their site ASAP). They are pricey - however given the quality, selection, and the fact they are handmade, I definitely think they are 100% worth the price.

Black Milk - I Eat Oily Mice Skater
$80 AUD - Museum piece, no longer available
I love the colours and pattern on this piece. Front on there's a delicate blend of soft pinks, corals and a hint of silverish gold. On an angle it shifts to a luscious green. Unfortunately, the cut with this material was all wrong on me, it tends to ride up particularly under the armpits - like the arm holes are too small. Very frustrating, as this piece is not worn as much as I would like due to that.
Black Milk does produce other chameleon type pieces over time, so keep an eye on their FB page.

Multichrome Nail Lacquer
Usually $15+ AUD - various sellers, we recommend ILNP
Multichromes made a huge splash onto the indie scene a couple of years ago, with every maker and their mum clutching desperately onto the chameleon bandwagon. Mainstream brands like OPI, Orly, SH, Revlon and more have been slyly putting out multichromes for many, many years now however.
You won't find true multichromes or ultrachromes in the pharmacy - but you will find some duochromes (look for Revlon, Sally Hansen, or Rimmel Metal Rush). Larger indies are still producing them, like ILNP, Picture Polish, Polish Me Silly, FUN Lacquer, Enchanted Polish, HITS, Dance Legend and more.
I have  HUGE stash of multichromes, I am a multi and duochrome horder (have been for years now) so I plan on posting a swatchfest soon. Stayed tuned!

Assorted purses and clutches
$19+ AUD - check out ASOS for the biggest selection.
Yes, I love handbags, clutches and purses. Yes, I have too many, Yes, I have a problem.
That aside, I have several of the clutches pictured and would absolutely recommend the Textured Hologram Makeup Case (ASOS) and the Mermaid Clutch (ASOS). Rhea Large Clutch is from Colette; they also recently put out a series of iridescent wallets which I have on of but was unable to photograph well at this time of night.
Although only just making it into this article, the Mermaid Zip Top (sequined, ASOS) is stunning. Just look at that thing. Le sigh.

*Honorable Mention*
ASOS Holographic Sequin Strip Dress$168 AUD - shop here
This dress is the most beautiful thing I have set my eyes on. unfortunately it didn't quite fit me and was far to delicate for how careless a person I am. Forever sad about that.
Lipsy Charley Iridescent Heeled Sandals - $128 AUD - shop here
Jeffrey Campbell Oil Slick Black Iridescent Lita - no longer available :(
Dr Martens Pascal in Violet Mirror Shift - $135 USD - shop here
Inglot AMC Lip Gloss in assorted iridescent shades - $28 AUD - shop here or instore

As mentioned above I'll be posting a swatchfest of my polish stash, so keep an eye out for that hopefully later this week.
Thanks for reading!
