This Friday Favourites covers the last 2-3 weeks; in general I'll be posting these every 2-5 weeks but it really depends on if I have anything new to share. I'll also be sharing the links and prices for everything as well, plus I'll include a brief review or general feedback on the item/s.
Anyway, let's get into it...
Alchimia Apothecary - Tend & Mend Lip Balm
$5 USD - shop here
I actually received this in a wee tester size to try out (free of charge) and it's perfect for me. I'm SO fussy when it comes to clear balms (the type that I smother my lips in when I'm at home, and particularly in winter). It's really important to me that the ones I use are a quality, thick balm (not sheer & slippery) that really nourishes my lips and protects them from getting chapped etc. Tend & Mend is lovely and thick, it has a very slight bumpy/gritty texture in the tube but once you start smothering that bad boy on it becomes long-lasting smooth perfection. Love it.
Australis Velourlips - Shang-Hi
$9.95 AUD - shop here
Velourlips are the crazy-popular matte lip cream which are long-lasting and quick-dry (so you need a steady hand with these bad boys). While I suit reds and darker shades in berries/plums/burgundies best... I couldn't say no to Shang-Hi (which is a stunning bright magenta-purple).
Look Human - Nicolas Cage Fleece Blanket
$36-65 USD - shop here
I've actually ordered this twice from Look Human. The first time was in Oct last year, and also had a cushion cover which was a Christmas gift. It ended up going missing and I filed a PayPal dispute (just to ensure I could get the refund as it was nearing 45 days since purchase). I absolutely HATE that they refuse to send parcels tracked. I never wanted to buy from them again because the first experience left a very sour taste in my mouth, but I couldn't live without sleeping under Nic Cage for the rest of my life. The second order was earlier this year and maybe they sent it by boat, because it took for-ev-verrrr to arrive. But finally it's here, and I can sleep easy.
The fleece is lovely and soft, the colours are vibrant and pretty.. but my only criticism with the blanket is that the printing doesn't go to the base of the fleece, so if you rub your hand and push the fleece one way or the other, bits of white pop through the design. Boo.
David Bowie - Heroes
Listen here
What can I say? Heroes is probably my favourite Bowie song and this past week I can't get it out of my head.
Lush Soap Stack - Karma & Honey
$13.95 AUD - shop here
'Enjoy the sweet, honey-toffee scent of Honey I Washed The Kids, and the uplifting fragrance of Karma, with its exotic patchouli and orange oils all in one beautiful package'. Both soaps are divine, and the scent is long-lasting. Two of my favourites in one bundle - yay!
Lush - Lovely Jubblies
$29.95 AUD - shop here
I think the first time I tried this it was either a gift from a swap or perhaps a freebie in an order. At any rate for someone with sensitive skin who is prone to dryness, this is a great product for the chest area if you want something a little lighter than the usual sticky/heavier creams for general body use (like Dream Cream, which is my winter favourite).
Thanks for reading!
