Nic Cage Doing the Charleston in a Bustling Speakeasy - Shiro

Swatches and first thoughts on Shiro's Nic Cage Doing the Charleston in a Bustling Speakeasy.

I received Nic Cage Doing the Charleston in a Bustling Speakeasy from my good friend Anthea. I don't really wear glosses much but the colour seems to be more 'my thing' than hers, and I am appreciative of the gift :D

So my fancy little intro pic has a filter applied which makes Bustling Speakeasy appear pretty set in it's burgundy ways. When I went to apply it I noticed the doe foot applicator is the most marvelous rich magenta-purple shade, which is the stain from this gloss. I wish that colour was mine IRL, but alas it's a mere lip wand stain. Anyway, moving on...

Nic Cage Doing the Charleston in a Bustling Speakeasy is described as "Moderately opaque fuchsia-mulberry. Will leave behind a faint stain". I do think it's a pretty accurate description, at least over my natural lip colour. It definitely leans burgundy on me, but does have distinct mulberry tones. The scent is supposed to be 'bubbly champagne' however I kind of think it smells like old fruit cake (lol). It's not unpleasant, it just has a heavyish scent which leans slightly fruity but then is overcome a little by the normal smell from a gloss' ingredients.

I have read that Bustling Speakeasy has a tendency to bleed a little, and stain. I do feel like the colour bled ever so slightly into the lines around my lips. I also did notice a slight staining afterwards, but to be frank mild staining isn't something I'm personally bothered by.

You came here Justin Time to see what that vibrant red is... also, lame pun is super lame.

Overall I really like this shade, application was easy and the colour is suitable for my skintone. I do think it's a little fidgety to get the application streak-free however opacity is good.
I'm not a fan of the scent, but it's not something that bothers me excessively.

Thank you for reading!
