Today I have swatches and a brief review on some Revlon Colourbursts. These have been available for awhile now; but I bought my first three back in January and haven't worn them since. Why? Let's find out...
Matte Balm - 240 Striking
"Vibrant colors infused with a Triple Butter Complex give you a bold, beautiful lip. It’s a burst of matte color with a balm-like feel"This is supposed to be matte, but I'm just not feeling it... I'll freely admit that in my mind matte is flat, like Australis' Velourlips or LC Velveteens. This doesn't feel matte, but I suppose I can see why they call it matte. It does lack some shine, but not completely.
Striking is a lovely blue-undertone cherry red balm, very opaque though somewhat streaky. I'm wearing one layer with touch ups, alone (not over primer or pencil). Application with these jumbo-eque style pencils is easy, the control you have is great. Apparently being a "retractable chubby crayon" means no sharpening required as well.
The balm is soft, easy to apply and rubs off instantly with a mild stain. I'd recommend a thin application over pencil to provide you with long-lasting wear.
I purchased mine from Target Australia where these usually retail for $17-$18. At the time it was 30% off so I paid roughly $12-$13. Although Striking is not a shade I would buy again, I know this product would work well for others. Personally, I don't like these types of lip products but that's purely me. I don't like a product that rubs off easily or requires I complete 2-5 other steps to make sure it stays in place - not when I can buy true mattes that don't budge for cheaper.

Matte Balm - 210 Unapologetic
"Vibrant colors infused with a Triple Butter Complex give you a bold, beautiful lip. It’s a burst of matte color with a balm-like feel"Unapologetic seems more matte to me than Striking was. It's a gorgeously opaque barbie pink, very vibrant and fun. Application was easy, this shade is easily a one-coater providing you have a good, sturdy hand. Like striking, this one also rubs off easily and leaves a mild stain, so I would recommend use over a primer or pencil base.
I purchased Unapologetic from online bargain-bin Catch of the Day, where Revlon Colourbursts frequently retail for $9+. I'd recommend this option only if you are buying a variety of products already as postage is a minimum of $10 usually.
Again, Unapologetic is sadly not for me due to the formula, however I can appreciate it's a bold shade which would work well on many especially with the ease of application and pigmentation.

Balm Stain - 040 Rendezvous
"A lightweight lipstain + moisturizing balm for a perfect flush of color"Rendezvous I feel photographed like a glossy balm, but in reality it's definitely a sheer balm without the stickiness of a gloss. This was my least favourite of all three. I felt like it looked very dated on my lips, and it actually appeared to have a slight frosty sheen. The colour applied unevenly, clumped up randomly and I definitely don't feel like this was a stain. The only ever so slight staining aspect was a tiny dry patch I had on my lower lip which was orange after I removed this product.
All in all this was a big miss for me. It applies easily enough, the colour technically is quite nice (a bright sheer coral orange) but due to the unevenness it just did not work on me.
I grabbed this one from Target Australia at the same time as Striking, so I paid roughly $12-$13. I wouldn't buy this once again, and would likely only recommend it for people with very smooth lips. If you are prone to flaking or peeling just avoid this one.
Thank you for reading!
